These last couple of days we have saw that the justice system has failed black women and that as a community we don’t listen to black women.
What do black women have to do in order to be heard or seen?
How much more do Black Women have to do to feel protected in this cold cruel world?
First we have Breonna Taylor, a 26 year old who was shot and killed while she was sleeping in her bed in Louisville, KY. All because the justice system decided to sign off on a “no knock” warrant, meanwhile they had the person in custody that they were actually looking for all along.
We have been demanding justice ever since we found out about this case, it was hushed under the rug but this actually happened March 13th, 2020. September 24th, 2020 is when they announced that no charges would be pressed for the killing of Breonna Taylor but instead he would be charge for Wanton Endangerment for endangering the neighbors.
Ironically this day 65 years ago Emmett Till’s murder were acquitted as well. Her family received a 12 million dollar settlement, for a wrongful death. That does not bring her back or give her justice but we will keep her name alive.
We shall keep her name alive.
Secondly, we have Megan the Stallion who allegedly said Tory Lanez shot her. Well he had the nerve to drop an album basically saying that he is getting framed and he didn’t do it.
He has been silent for about two months and all of sudden just dropped that we was breaking his silence. We didn’t know that it would be an album. The audacity of him breaking his silence with an album.
He must have not read the room we are still mourning our loss of Breonna Taylor. This gun violence towards black women has got to stop and we need to believe black women. Do you think Tory Lanez shot Megan the Stallion?
